E-bike tour through the Seebachtal and Thurtal valleys

A fascinating cycle tour full of cultural highlights and breathtaking landscapes

Let yourself be enchanted by nature, great views and culinary and cultural highlights and discover the beautiful landscapes of the Seebachtal and lower Thur valley.

We ride from Frauenfeld through the MurgAuen Park over the Thurbrücke bridge near Warth, via Tiefenmühle to Herdern Castle for a short stop where the farm shop with many of its own products invites you to shop. We reach Hüttwilen via the Berghof and Kalchrain with wonderful views towards the Alpstein massif and the dominant Säntis. Via the Hagschnuurer Schüür, also with many home-grown products, we descend through the village to the lake of the same name, where we will enjoy an official refreshment stop at the small Badirestaurant and, if you wish, a swim.

After refreshments, we cycle along the three lakes of the Seebachtal valley: Hüttwilersee, Nussbaumersee and Hasensee. We leave the Seebachtal valley past the Helfenberg ruins and further up to Wilen near Neunforn with the small, hidden Wilemersee lake.

Via the Sonnenberg and Schafferetsbuck (with Alpine pointer) we enjoy the phenomenal view high above the Thur valley towards the Alps and the Swiss Plateau and reach Iselisberg above Uesslingen, centrally located in the largest contiguous vineyard in Thurgau. Locally known for its farm shops, restaurant and wineries. The route then descends via Berlingerhof to the famous Ittingen Charterhouse and finally back over the Thurbrücke bridge and along the River Murg back to Frauenfeld railway station.

The tour is approx. 33 kilometres long and 500 metres uphill and takes a good 5 hours. The aim is to be back in Frauenfeld as a group at around 3.30 pm.
